Travel Grant Opportunities for Vietnamese ELT Professionals to attend

TESOL 2018 International Convention

The Regional English Language Office (RELO), U.S. Embassy Hanoi, Vietnam, is pleased offer travel grants for outstanding Vietnamese English language teaching (ELT) professionals to attend TESOL 2018 International Convention, March 27-30, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois. Only Vietnamese teachers who have already submitted their proposal to the conference are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Priority will be given to candidates who have been accepted to present at the Convention. The application deadline is 17:00 PM, Friday, December 15, 2017.

TESOL International Convention 2017

As the largest organization for English language educators, TESOL International Association hosts more than 6,500 people annually from around the world at its convention. Educators at all levels attend to exchange ideas and connect with a dynamic professional community.

TESOL 2018 International Convention will take place at McCormick Place in Chicago from March 27-30, 2018. During those three-plus days, attendees can choose from nearly 1,000 educational sessions and visit the more than 120 exhibitors in the English Language Expo.

Grant Details

Each grant will provide a set amount of funding that can be used for:

-    Roundtrip transportation from the grantee’s home city toChicago;

-    Hotel accommodation;

-    International travel insurance; and

-    Conference registration fee.

The grantee will be responsible for other associated expenses.

Eligibility requirements

To be considered for nomination, applicants must:

1.  Have submitted a proposal for TESOL International Convention 2018;

2.  Be a full-time ELT professional;

3.  Be a citizen of Vietnam and currently live in Vietnam;

4.  Have at least five years of experience in the field of English language teaching;

5.  Be committed to share what they learn at the conference with peers upon returning to their hometowns;

6.  Not have any existing health issues that may preclude them from traveling; and

7.  Not have received any U.S. government funds or participated in any U.S.

government exchange opportunities within the past three years.
